I am very happy with the IR keyboard I just bought:

It does the job and is around the same price point.  I had looked
for a while for a keyboard with this small form factor under $50.  
As other people have noted, it should in principle be possible to
use a learning remote to learn the keypress codes and use a remote
from then on (I have not tried with this particular one though).
