Interesting. Yes please do post your config. This is the first question
everyone asks when installing my distro, 'I thought the controller would
work?'.

I made the assumption that if xev was not showing different events, or even
an event, as each button was pressed, then it was not going to be easily
mappable.

I look forward to seeing your config.
