[damason@redshift.com: [mythtv-users] coredump on commercial skip]

I'm running CVS from very early on the morning of the 8th and I've noticed
something a tiny bit strange, but I haven't had a chance to do any decent
debugging yet, so I hadn't yet sent any info (and just now, seeing the
response email that Isaac sent, I'm confident that I had done the right
thing by not mailing yet. ;). But, seeing this email, I'll throw in my
2 cents worth... I'm not asking for a solution because I'm not really
providing a correct level of debug info, but here's what happened to me.
I had a 3 hour movie that I had recorded a couple of months ago that
I was watching through last night. It was working wonderfully...
Commercials were being skipped, etc and then once it hit a commercial
and boom, I got dropped back to the desktop. I had run mythfrontend
from an icon, so there wasn't any text giving me a possible reason..
The backend had went down. No info on console at all. But, 6543 wasn't
answering.
So, I restarted the backend and then my frontend (different machines,
btw). My movie had lost its place and was back at the beginning.. So,
I hit z a bunch and z skipped right through the problem commercial and
I was able to continue watching.
Until half an hour later or so. It skipped through a few commercials
fine, and then it dropped back out.. I had a seg fault note this time,
on the frontend.
Honestly, I had kinda figured that it would end up being a problem with
the recording being old, although I know that shouldn't affect it.
Anyway, once I get the time I'll provide more info. I hate these
Heisenbugs.
