If I change my Xserver font to another value this can go away? Is there
another setting which is more advisable?

What will prevent this from reoccuring? Is there some logic which could
look at the size of the screen, and if it is to tall put in a scroll
bar?

It doesn't happen all the time, but most I think.  Depends on the
description length (multiple lines) and the font used.  Probably why I
didn't notice it when I started adding stuff to that screen since I
didn't have the right fonts or have my X server set to 100 dpi set at
the time.
