Huh. I'm thinking that you were probably launching xawtv while the 
mythbackend was still running. If you have the backend already running, 
then do something to change the tuner card's properties, that might 
cause the problem. I believe a restart of the backend should cause it 
to reload the values you defined in setup. But that's just 
speculation...
