Started compiling xfree-4.3.99.16.ebuild right now. The .14 is already out of the portage tree. You say CLE266 is built-in to the new xfree version? Which means you don't need the DRM drivers anymore ?

I'm the same howto right now. There are some new binary drivers. 40037.
Yet they don't give a good result in xfree-4.3.0-r4.

and indeed I'm using a pvr250 as well.
