Hi--

I have searched the forums high and low and have yet to come across an
answer to
my problem.

I have a Matrox G400, AMD XP 1800+, 512MB RAM, 160GB HD, WinTv Tuner Card
(just
to give you an idea of my system).

I am having problems with my Tv Out. I enable all the neccessary
framebuffer
features and recompile the source for the latest kernel from kernel.org
using
the config file that redhat 9 generates when i do a clean install. this
works
fine. i get the penguin in the upper left of the screen when i boot the
kernel
and everything else. next, i download the source code for mplayer, go into
the
tvout directory, run make in both the matroxset and fbset directories and
copy
the matroxset and fbset into my usr/local/bin . after i run the matroxset
commands to mirror my display on the tv and fbset to do a little tweaking i
can
what looks to be a perfect display on the tv, that is, if i was using a
black
and white tv. i live in the US so i am using NTSC and I am hooking up my tv
thru RCA. The OS I am using is Redhat 9.

also, I have edited my XF86Config file to include Load "v4l" as well as
Option
"HWCursor" "off" and Option "UseFBDev"

so basically two things:
1) how can i get the output on my tv to be in color and
2) how can i set it so i have two independent displays on my monitor and tv
so
that when i run fbset commands my computer monitor won't change (i like how
it
looks at 1024x768 -- which my TV won't do)

thanks
