[mythtv-users] Black screen when viewing live tv or recorded shows

Hi!

My config
P3-733
Asus p3b-f (Intel BX chipset)
PVR-350 (configured for PAL)
Linux 2.4.23 (Gentoo)
X 4.3.0 (with kde)
MythTV 0.21
All drivers and software are downloaded and installed this week.

I have a working tv-out in x with kde and i can run mythtv just fine on it
but as soon as i try to watch live tv or recorded shows i get a black screen
and pressing esc or any other key seems to do nothing and i need to kill
mythfrontend and backend and it also seems to start recording in the live
buffer directory as soon as i select watch tv.

I can cat /dev/video0 to a file and get a working mpeg stream both before
starting x and after, i can record shows in mythtv and even get the clip to
play in the small preview screen but i cant get it to play in full screen, i
also tried with the normal graphics card (ati rage II+ pci) and i got the
same result.

Any idea what is wrong or where i should start looking ?
