As far as I'm aware, this is exactly the case.  It's simply not their hardware 
to give information out on.  Hauppauge has been pretty cool -- they sent 
PVR-350s to Kevin (the main ivtv guy) and me, without which it's unlikely 
that the decoder would have been supported as soon as it was.
