[mythtv-users] Gentoo, PVR-250 and IR Blaster

Hi all, 

I just ordered my pvr-250 and was going to order the snap stream ir
blaster but wanted to pose some questions to the group first.

My plan is to remove redhat 7.2 off my server (dual PII 300mhz with
512MB ram)and do a stage 1 install of Gentoo which should take 1 or 2
weeks. Before I begin this endeavour I was wondering if anyone has had
success getting these three to work together.

I will ONLY be using lirc to send commands to my digital cable box, i'm
not going to use the remote that comes with the pvr-250 in hopes to
avoid a conflict there. Right now mythtv is only going to run my our
computers, not on the TV.

My purpose for using a stage 1 install is to ensure I get the utmost out
of my server, since it's not very powerful.
