Does he need to change his stream type from MPEG2-PS to DVD?

I've never completely understood the differences in stream types, especially
when it pertains to the DVD standard. If I plan to archive my recordings
someday, do I need to start doing it as streamtype=DVD?
Or doesn't it matter since I'll probably re-encode to remove the
commercials, anyway?
