[mythtv-users] Compiling 0.13 modules on a Debian (testing) system

You didn't follow the directions. In the README (or INSTALL) file for
the modules it says the 'prequisites' is an installed and working 0.13
mythtv.

I made the same mistake, wanting to build everything first then do the
install after I was certain everything compiled sucessfully.
