How does mythtv perform for you when using xbv to set the overscan? If I use 
xbv (or nvtv) to change the settings in any way, I get a drop in framerate 
to about 15 fps. The problem isn't present using mplayer through mythvideo, 
only while using mythtv.

If you can shed any light on how to get a decent frame rate with overscan 
I'd be very grateful!
