Does it look like really bad interlacing only not on
every scan line? I've seen this with an nVidia
GeForce2 in Windows using tvtool and I had on my myth
box using nvtv when I tried to transition to fvwm.
There is a little mention of it in th nvtv archives.
The only answer I found there was that it had to do
with sync and that it might be hard to get rid of.
A lot of people are using the nvidia 4363 drivers with
myth and enabling the "experimental AV sync" option.
I have no idea whether there's a relationship to this
problem, but these seem to be the nvidia drivers of choice.
