[mythtv-users] Finally got it up and running, but...

Hi,

I'm new to this list. After two days I finally got mythtv up and running
but I'm still running into several problems. I searced the archive and
Google but found no solution. 

My system:
Athlon 1600+
1024 MB RAM
Epox 8KTA3+Pro Motherboard
Ati Rage 128
Soundblaster 64
Hauppauge WinTV PCI (the old one)
Debian stable with several backports (including perl 5.8, XFree86 4.3 as
4.2 had issues with Rage 128 Modules) and several stuff compiled the
usual way. Oss sound drivers.

I compiled xmltv and mythtv and while setting it up I ran into every
problem that is possible. I totally screwed up my database up to the
point where i dropped it and started from scratch, ran mythfilldatabase
with my xawtvrc manually because the other way I had no valid channels.

Now I  can watch TV, change channels and all that stuff but wenn I enter
the setup in mythfrontend I get no readable fonts. I quess this is a
qt-issue as qtconfig comes up garbled as well and I get lots of

X Error: RenderBadPicture" (invalid Picture parameter) 182
Major opcode 154
Minor opcode 5

I have no idea what this means. I'll try and recompile qt 3.1.0 or
something newer.

My second problem is not that important but as I live in Germany I would
like to have a program guide as well. So I installed nxtvepg and it
fetches the information and dumps it as xml-file. And stupid me has no
idea how to import that file into my database without screwing it up
again. 

Any help would be appreciated.
