There is an lp_code_rate field in the dvb_channel channel which contains 
the tuning settings for dvb cards, you might need to change this.  Mine 
are all set to '1/2' for Nova-T in the UK.

try tzap -r "BBC 7" and then leave it running while catting the dvr0 
device.  You can also point mplayer at it which works well for me.
