Also, in the LIRC section,

 

# cp /usr/share/doc/ivtv-0.12/lircd-g.conf /etc/lircd.conf

 

Should be 

 

# cp /usr/share/doc/ivtv-0.1.6/lircd-g.conf /etc/lircd.conf

 

 

Also, in the initial mysql setup, he recommends changing the ping line
to

 

"`/usr/bin/mysqladmin -umysql ping 2> /dev/null`"

 

Which ping line, as there are 2 in the script (I am assuming that it's
both of them).

I'm just working thru the guide (again), and setting up for my PVR250
and WinTV Theater cards.... One thing I've come across so far, is that
to get the bttv 0.9.11 to install, you need to enable at-bleeding
support for apt-get.
