[mythtv-users] Archive Tv Shows

Hi all, 

I've been using myth for a while now and love it.
I have been tinkering with trying to find a way to be
able to archive the episodes of two shows I record with
myth but it's impossible. I patched mplayer and can watch
them in it, but there seems to be alot of trouble getting 
the audio/video to synch up. 
Is anyone archiving (ripping to cd or storing on a hd) their
tv shows? I was just wonding how, as I'm kinda stuck thus far
on figuring it out.
