Are there any perl scripts for changing the channels on the newer RCA receivers?

I've use "DirecTV Serial Control Utility" (win32-based) and that works, but I
must select "New Command Set".

For MythTV however, I need a unix perl script (to use with MythTV of course)
that will work with the new rca command set.  Do any exist?

Also, I'm using the low speed data port, which is RJ11 in case that matters.
