[mythtv-users] Bit rate oddity?

Having used Myth for a couple months now, I have observed that the 
filesize of recorded video seems larger than it should.  I have it set 
to record at the default values using MPEG 4 -- 2200 Kbps and Audio MP3 
Q7 (whatever bitrate that works out to be), resolution 480x480.  
However, the resultant files are between 3-4 GB for an hour of TV.  Now 
according to my calculations, at 2200 Kbps the video portion of the file 
should be slightly less than 1 GB, and the audio should be comparatively 
small.  So I have to wonder, why the heck the files are so big?

Has anyone else observed this, and if so what is the reason?
