How about changing the intro e-mail that you get for signing up for 
the mailing list?  Make it look something like this:

1) READ THE DOCUMENTATION!

2) SEARCH THE ARCHIVES!
You can do that here:

3) IF YOU'RE USING CVS: USE THE SOURCE, LUKE!
Turn on debugging and make backtraces.  Those make Isaac happy.
