[mythtv-users] MythTV & ASUS Pundit -- Drivers?

Hello all,

I just made the plunge and purchased an ASUS Pundit system to dedicate to MythTV. My configuration is as follows:

- Asus Pundit case/motherboard
- Pentium4 2.4ghz processor
- 1ghz PC2700 memory (crucial)
- Western Digital 120gb HD
- Sony DDU1621 DVD drive
- Hauppauge PVR-250 capture card
- RedHat Linux 9

So today I installed all hardware, and configured the bios for my appropriate processor, drives, etc.. I also made sure that all my onboard hardware (LAN, Audio, Video, etc..) was enabled.

So I went through the RH9 installation with no problems at all, but when the system was booting for the 1st time I noticed that my onboard audio wasn't initializing properly. Then when I got into my OS, I noticed that my network was dead --- and upon further investigation, it seems that my onboard LAN wasn't found.

I'm no Linux hardware/driver guru by any means, so these issues are quite a setback to me in getting my Myth machine up and running. I looked through all the previous posts regarding Pundit machines, and I didn't find one instance of anyone else having these problems. So I'm kind of scratching my head right now as to why my machine didn't recognize all the hardware as it should have. Could it be other bios settings I may have missed? Or are special drivers needed that I wasn't aware of?

Also, with regards to the onboard video. My OS wanted to assign a generic VESA driver to the onboard video... and just to get a functional operating system, I let it go ahead and do this. However, I'm sure this won't cut the mustard when it comes to the TV-out options needed for MythTV. So any suggestions on this one as well?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Sincerely,

Kevin Gibbons
