I wasn't sure if it was possible to blend an image onto a Qt widget, so I 
figured out how to coax Qt into letting me..  John Danner and I have 
discussed it a tiny bit on the IRC channel, and we'll probably move the 
playback box to something more like his program finder UI post 0.8.  With 
that, and some overlay graphics from you, that should be pretty close to what 
you've come up with..
