[mythtv-users] Couple of things

I've been using MythTV for several weeks now and I have a few
questions...

1. If I'm 10 minutes into watching a show and I decide to record it,
I've noticed that it only records from the point that I hit "r" in the
Program Guide. Are there plans to record back from the beginning of the
show (a la Tivo?) Is this already implemented in CVS?

2. If I'm watching the remainder of a show, and it decides that it's
time to record something, it won't let me watch the remainder of the
buffer. Instead, it jumps right to the beginning of the now-recording
show. Is this designed? Fixable?

3. I've already got both the DVD-in-mythvideo-symlink hack and the
DVD-as-separate-icon-from-main-page-using-xine hack configured. (I
prefer the latter.) The next step is to get Dolby Digital 5.1 working.
I've already configured Alsa for my SIS7012 onboard chip (intel8x0
driver), although I also have a CMI8738-chipset card that I pulled from
the box that I pulled last night. The CMI card doesn't have a digital
connector. Is there any way that I can get Dolby Digital 5.1 working?
My receiver has Optical, Coax(Audio), and 5-channel connectors on it.
What are my options? Do I need a different card? (And how do I
configure it in Alsa/mythtv?) This is a biggie, since I'd like to
remove my DVD player from the rack...

4. Periodically, my X CPU utilization runs through the roof, taking up
to 50 percent of the CPU. My only recourse is to kill X, relogin and
restart mythfrontend. I'm running RH9 with a Hauppauge WinTV pci dbx
(401) card, with an NVidia 4200 chipset video card... Any ideas?

5. Mythmusic performance over NFS is... umm... pretty much unusable.
The music plays, but the controls are *extremely* unresponsive. Does
this get better in CVS?

6. With my Hauppauge WinTV card, I received an IR dongle and a remote
control. Is the dongle only a receiver? Or can I use it to change the
channels on my digital cable box? (That would be my second choice. My
first would be serial channel-changing...)

Okay - that pretty much exhausts my questions for now... Thanks all for
a great product!
