Hi Myth-Dev's and users,

after nearly 6 years Linux expierience I have 2 say, that this
masterpiece of software is one of the most interesting that I ever
compiled on my system.

I run MythTV on a very old PII-400 @ 450MhZ, 256MB Ram integrated, and a
Hauppauge WinTV Card 4 analog TV. LiveTV and recording works up to
resolutions of 320x240 in Mpeg4 with uncompressed audio @ 44100Hz. I did
not want to believe, that even timeshifting works as well as is does.
Its nt perfect, but its worth using it (even my girlfriend says ... :o))

But I have 3 problems and after 2 weeks of testing I did not find any
solution.

Maybe u can help me.

1. MythMusic compiles but always segfaults. I tried to compile it with
and
without SDL/OpenGL/FFTW in all variations, but the result always
segfaults wih the following strace output :

The problem seems to be the Ressourcemanager of my Suse8.2, so I
reinstalled
the original one from the Suse ftp-server : resmgr-1.0

I compiled the sources and the result was a libresmgr.so.1.0 in /lib.
Recompiling of mythmusic showed me, that this one was not used by the
myth-
music plugin, but libresmgr.so.0.1.

So again I had have a look in the web for another version and found the
source
of : resmgr-0.9.7-40,
patched, compiled an installed it, made an ldconfig after checking my
/etc/ld.so.conf and recompiled mythmusic.

Result : SIGSEGV as above.

I'm trying to get this running 4 nearly 2 weeks now, and now I am out of
ideas. Cam anyone help me, give me a hint ?

2.

My Hauppauge WinTV was shipped with a nice remotecontrol and after
compiling lirc and recompiling my kernel it was working very well. And
it still does, but there is a strage behaviour, that I cannot explain :
In some Menu's of Myth I press the up/down button once but the
application executes the connected command twice. For example in the
tv-planner it always makes jumps of 2 rows and 2 columns, so that I
cannot reach all transmissions for programming.

If I use my keyboard there there is no such behaviour. Can anyone help ?

3.

After upgrading from Myth-0.11 to 0.12 I have a probem with a 'new
feature': In LiveTV-mode if I use the remotecontrol Myth-Tv seems to
recognize the actual aspectratio of the running transmission changes the
output and scales the TV-source between 16:9,4:3 and Zoom. That maybe a
nice feature, but in some Modes I cannot see the whole screen (what I
would like) so I'd like 2 switch of this feature but dont know how ? I
did not find any configurationvalue 4 this in mythconverg.

The amusing fact (more or less) is, that this 'feature' only appears,
when I use the remotecontrol, if I use the keyboard, it's not there.

And one last thing : Due 2 the fact, that I live in Germany I cannot use
the xmltv-grabber, cause for some month the server is down. So I used
nxtvepg to get a valid channellist and epg-data. Now the problem is,
that after each upgrade of the epg-data using mythfilldatabase my
channellist was corrupt, cause the needed channelnumbers (which are not
included in the xmltv-file) disappeared. I solved this problem with a
little script that deletes the program table and reprograms it with my
own one after each epgdata-upgrade.

I'm sure, that many users here in Europe have the same problem, so what
about a regional database of channellists ?

Thanks and Greets
