[mythtv-users] NIC pundit [SOLVED]

After trying gentoo, redhat and core, I turned to the BIOS to find a
solution.
It seems that Linux (until 2.4 at least) isn't "Plug and play OS" per ASUS
definition.
If I turn that option OFF, everything works.

Subject: [mythtv-users] NIC pundit

Hi all,

trying to make the Broadcom 4400 driver to work, but without sucess.
Knowing that so many ppl has a Pundit, I hope someone can help me.

I'm running kernel 2.4.18 on Core Linux distro.
Tried already the driver 1.0.1 and the 2.0.5

I do have alias eth0 bcm4400 in /etc/modules.conf

If I do a ifconfig eth0 this is what I get:
[/]# ifconfig eth0 192.168.100.123
Broadcom 4401 Ethernet Driver bcm4400 ver. 1.0.1 (08/26/02)
PCI: No IRQ know for interrupt pin A of device 00:0f.0. Please try using
pci=biosira.
eth0: Broadcom BCM4401 100Base-T found at mem dc800000, IRQ 0, node addr
00e018df2021
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Resource temporarily unavailable

[/]# route add -net 192.168.100.0/24 dev eth0
SIOCADDRT: Network is down

[/]# lsmod
Module Size	Used by	Not tainted
Bcm4400 26976	0	(autoclean)

What am I missing ? A Bios tweak ? Some kernel option ? Need to change
distribution ? :)

Thanks in advance,

 Duarte Cordeiro
