[mythtv-users] strange lirc problem

Hi,

In my case (RH9, atrpms, PVR-250) neither blackbox nor fvwm(2) worked 
satisfyingly (config according to that manual section), so I decided to 
go on using KDE, altough this is overkill for this use case; with KDE, 
there are also some 'unnice things', e.g. you have to
- disable the soundserver (arts)
- disable the bell in the console (blocks the sound device)
- disable screensavers
- configure the windows behaviour so that the window under the mouse 
pointer automatically grabbes the focus (otherwise mplayer exits back to 
the panel instead of mythTV by use with the remote control)
- disable the KDE mount daemon (if you use mythDVD or mythMusic) (in the 
components/service section in the control center)
- delete the Autorun.desktop link in .kde/Autostart/
(BTW: this Autostart directory is also the place to create symlinks to 
irxevent and mythfrontend)

So, this is not a recommendation for KDE, these are just my experiences...
