[mythtv-users] nvidia rpms respin

Hi,

there had been some problems with the nvidia rpms lately. Mainly the
upgrade to 4496 kicked the overscan feature and my buildenvironment
trying to be too smart kicked the tls bits (my chroots were faking
i386 arch, so RH's glibc w/o tls was installed resulting in nvidia not
installing its tls libs ...)

Anyway, the current situation looks quite good. In fact it is far
better than the good old times ;=)

A script by Peter Backlund was added with some modifications, as well
as some other auto-editing to make manual editing of /etc/modules.conf
and /etc/X11/XF86Config almost [1] uneccessary.

How to install? If you have apt/yum enabled boxes it is a matter of

apt-get install nvidia-graphics-kmdl-<your kernel here> [2]
apt-get install nvidia-graphics
diff -ud /etc/X11/XF86Config /etc/X11/XF86Config.nvidia
mv -f /etc/X11/XF86Config.nvidia /etc/X11/XF86Config
Restart X

If you don't have apt/yum, get it ;)
(see the installation instructions at http://atrpms.physik.fu-berlin.de/)

[1] Almost: The new XF86Config is saved under
/etc/X11/XF86Config.nvidia for you to inspect it. Copy it onto
    /etc/X11/XF86Config, after reviewing it.

[2] <your kernel here>: [<flavour>-]<uname -r>, e.g.
    2.4.20-20_29.rh9.at or
    2.4.22-1.2115.nptl_22.rhfc1.at or
    smp-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl or
    bigmem-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl_22.rhfc1.at or ...
