as long as you're comfortable with a cli, cdrecord-prodvd 
<http://www.fokus.gmd.de/research/cc/glone/employees/joerg.schilling/private/cdrecord.html> 
is great for burning cds and dvds directly off your myth box. my only 
sticking point: it took me a few burns to figure out what options to 
include with mkisofs to get a dvd read on my macs. ive been kicking 
around the idea of creating a clickable web interface (a perl cgi 
with "Template", maybe) so my roommates could choose videos and then 
have them written to dvd.
