[mythtv-users] How to change the text color in drop down boxes?

I'm just getting MythTV 0.12 running. I've got a couple of more serious
issues, but before I bother everyone with that, I want to make sure that my
configuration is right.

The difficulty is that in my system (details below), the drop down list boxes
in the configuration screen are almost impossible to read. The light grey
background with the white text is a bit too close for my tired eyes to read.
This makes it really hard to figure out if I've just got the wrong settings
selected. However, not all of the boxes are colored the same way.

For example, in the Setup->General window, the Audio output device edit box is
fine (dark blue background with white/grey text). However, on the next page,
the System Shutdown box has a (unselected) background of grey, with white
text.

I'm a bit of a Linux newbie as well, so it is entirely possible that I've
missed something in the Configuration->KDE->LookNFeel functions in the KDE
GUI.

My machine: P3-500, w/512M, unknown (forgot) motherboard, Matrox G200/32M
card, Hauppage PVR-350. running Mandrake 9.1 (latest patches), KDE 3.1 for
window manager. I've more or less tried to stay with Thac's RPMs for Myth
0.12, but I've had to dig up a new XMLTV and a few other bits. The eventual
intent is that this machine will be the backend server, with a couple of VIA
EPIA M10000 boards running as frontend machines elsewhere in the house.

Thanks in advance,
