[mythtv-users] Advice Needed for Gentoo

Jup,

2.4.20-gentoo-r8 is the latest kernel release with the newest patches for
this kernel. It might contain a new patchset for v4l2 and bttv. The
gaming-sources is also more bleeding edge then the gentoo-sources

Hi Adam,
What sound setup in Alsa do you have?
I've been trying to get audio being recorded with an ES1371 without any
success as of late. Not only that, but that computer will not allow me to
watch LiveTV, nor watch recorded video on that system (I export the recorded
table and copy the NUV files to another system for viewing). I can record
video just fine, but without audio.

The computer I'm using for MythTV is dedicated, so I can change kernels
without too many issues. Right now I'm using 2.4.20-gentoo-r5.

Do you think the gaming sources would help?

Thanks,

Harlan...
