I was just going to suggest installing apt and synaptic. :)

You could also install apt and synaptic, and set it up to ONLY use Red 
Hat package repos, and then you would have essentially the same thing 
as the red-carpet method, and you can selectively install and uninstall 
whatever you want out of the official Red Hat packages.
