The last time I tried to get this working I was unsuccessful and I
concluded that it was because I was not running the stock Redhat kernel
that came with RH9. What I was trying to ask is if the source code
version of libddmpeg mentioned above made it possible with a non-stock
kernel (namely 2.4.21).

If not, can you (or anyone) explain the anticipated steps which are
needed to get to the point where the PVR-250 decoder can be used with an
arbitrary release of Linux?

Thanks for your reply Isaac!
