all that before, although I may have got the order wrong)

now, the compile completes ok, and the module loads with the following...

So, I tried my luck and tried to set the video standard to PAL .
# ./test_ioctl -u 0xff

but got..
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_STD
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_STD failed

and the same kinda error with all the other test_ioctl config options, 
but at least it compiled !!
