[mythtv-users] DCT2500 and serial port channel changing

I've had some experience recently with a DCT2500 on Shaw cable.

When I took the box home I hooked up the serial cable and tried a couple
of the channel changing scripts for the DCT2000 that have been floating
around.  I was exuberant to discover that the python scripts worked and
the dct-channel-1.3 worked, although less reliably.

Then I called Shaw to "activate" the box.  They must have pushed out
some new firmware and/or settings.  Lo and behold, the serial port was
deactivated and the scripts no longer functioned.

So now I use an IR blaster and lirc.  The DCT2000 codes work just fine.
