i tried it now for days to get this working but it won't... yes i'm a
linux/mythtv newbie...
i successfully installed the ivtv driver and followed the mythtv HOWTO but
it won't work. currently i have the mandrake rpms installed (from
http://rpm.nyvalls.se). the problem is that i'm from switzerland and i don't have any
channels (at least i think this is my problem). mythbackend outputs:
Error, couldn't find any available channels.
Your database is most likely setup incorrectly.
all i see when i watch tv is a black/gray signal.
i tried to run nxtvepg to get the channels/epg from there but it doesn't
work. when i try to scan for providers either the message '/dev/video0' is used
or '/dev/vbi0' shows (after a reboot only the last appear). any hints? i'm
sure someone got this working... please tell me how!?!
another question: i saw somewhere that i can test the video source with 'cat
/dev/video0 > test.mpg'. this works but i also don't see "real" tv. i only
see this black/grey-no-signal movie without audio. is this a normal behaviour
or should i be able to see real tv?
it would be nice if someone could help me...
thanks & greetings, ramon.
