I believe they are about on par. The issue for me is what inputs I have
available on my TV. I have component inputs only for HD, so I'm going
to have to use a VGA to component adapter.

Yes, the optimal solution would be DVI to DVI.

I kick myself for not waiting a little while (or spending a bit more)
to get a TV with a DVI input, but the price was right for the set I got
($1400 for a discontinued floor model 47" Panasonic HDTV about a year
and a half ago).
