You need to use the LIRC tool irxevent. This translates remote events to
events the X server understands. See http://www.lirc.org/html/irxevent.html

Subject: [mythtv-users] IR troubleshooting

Hi!

Finally Igot almost anything working....only remote control doesn't work.
I want to use the remote control of my Hauppauge PCI FM tuner card. LIRC
works
and is started correctly on system bootup with the lirc_i2c module. irw is
also working. So far...
I copied the example .lircrc file to my home directory. I had to correct
some
button names with the right ones from my lircd.conf. I left the rest of the
file as it was and added no further entrys. When I start mythbackend and
frontend the remote control simply does nothing.
To check if all was correct, I tried to start irexec in the console - no
errors! When I press a key, it does not print out anything. Is this right?
For information, I already used irexec before to launch any programs or
things like that, so irexec should work fine.

Hope you can help!

Manuel
