Very interesting.  Every single one of these various backtraces has one thing 
in common -- a thread is sitting talking to the mysql server.  Normally, 
queries are very quick, and the chances of all these different hangs (and 
they all _are_ in different places) being stopped at just the right time to 
catch a thread talking to mysql is very, very small...

Can people with this problem let me know what version of Qt and Mysql they're 
using?  I'd be interested to know if there's anything in common there..
