It isn't something Red Hat ever uses. Though you already have it fixed,
for future reference, I believe it does more or less the same thing as
depmod -a (regenerates modules.dep, the listing of modules and their
dependencies).

My systems return absolutely nothing from that command... However,
modinfo ivtv returns some useful input:
# modinfo ivtv
