I've just gotten MythTV running on my xbox without the CD, keeping my
modded xbox otherwise intact. It's actually very simple, the only
hangups I found were that I can't run MythTV from within a file
manager app, I had to add it to my Evox menu and I had to disable In
Game Reset (otherwise it locks when I tried to start MythTV).

Basically, it goes like this:
1: Follow the instructions at http://bit.blkbk.com/, especially
everything after : "Unpacking the Files:"
2: Ftp the files over to your xbox's E: drive in the root partition.
3: Add a line in your evox.ini that says something to the effect of :
Item "MythTV", "e:\default.xbe"
4: TaDa!

Apparently, you have to put all the files in the E: or F: root
directory and edit your linxboot.cfg accordingly. MythXbox .03 won't
work from a subdirectory (though .04 will, judging from the forums
there http://bit.blkbk.com/phpBB2/)

Hope this helps someone,

Phill W.

| I was just wondering, if anyone have had any success in creating a
| bootable DVD or CD for the Xbox, wich makes the Xbox act as a
| frontend for a MythTV Backend server?
|
| Or even better - has anyone made an .xbe file, runnable from i.e.
| EvolutionX, turning the Xbox into a "temporary" Frontend for
| MythTV?
