To run X on the TV output you need to have ivtv loaded before
the X server starts up. I suspect that this may be our problem.

You can try restarting X and see if the TV out works.

use:
ps x | grep "X"
to ge the process ID for X then kill it using:
kill -9 pid
replace "pid" with the actual process number
