Go cheap.  I have exactly that $93 drive (the Samsung SP1604N, from
newegg), and it works fine.  It's fast enough to record, playback, flag
commercials, and transcode all at once.  And it really is quiet.  As a
bonus, it has a 3-year warranty, where many drives now only have 1.
