I'm guessing no one else has had this problem, but luckily I was able
to fix it.
For posterity's sake, here's what happened:
~ It turns out that the mythconverg database dump I made didn't
include the information from the recordedmarkup table. I grep'd the
recordedmarkup info out of a full database dump I'd done before
reinstalling and inserted them into the new database. Everything
appears to work.

|
| What has gone before:
|
| ~ I recently bought and installed a PVR-250 that worked fine for
| about a week, then went wacky. I tried several things and ended
| up deciding to reinstall KnoppMyth. I backed up my database,
| CableProvide.xmltv, and all the .nuv files. After the re-install,
| I set up the cards, ran mythfilldatabase, and imported the
| recorded, oldrecorded, and (I believe) the recordedmarkup tables.
|
| ~ The current problem is that some of my TV recordings act odd
| when I try to fast-forward them. Basically, if I try to go 30s
| ahead, the playback pauses for about 5 seconds and then goes to the
| right place. During this 5 second pause, the OSD shows the current
| time index as staying the same, but the Total Time starts
| increasing! If I try to jump 10 minutes ahead, the playback locks
| up, but I'm able to hit ESC and return to the frontend. I _can_
| play the videos from start to finish without any problems, if I
| just let them play. To make the situation more odd, not all of the
| recordings do this. It seems like the offending programs are the
| ones recorded on the PVR-250. (New PVR-250 recordings work just
| fine, as do what I assume are the bttv-based recordings.)
|
| ~ If I hit 'M' to bring up the editing menu, the whole thing
| would lock. -- I assume this is because the recordedmarkup table
| was empty, but the recorded table said 'cutlist=1', 'commflag=1' or
| something like that.
|
| ~ Running mythcommflag seemed to help the situation. After the
| run was finished, I could fast-forward without it locking up, but
| the Total Time appears to be an additional 7 hours/30 minute show.
| (For instance, Tripping the Rift shows up as 7:27:00 total time).
| At this point, if I hit 'M', I get the usual OSD, but all the
| cut-points are on the 1st 1/6th of the bar, and there are a _lot_
| of them.... It seems like they're just about every frame.
|
| ~ Does anyone have an idea of what I've done wrong here? I'd
| appreciate any help, ideas, or just pointers to related material.
|
| Thanks in advance, Phill W.
