Axel,
Sorry to bother you again, I've had a quick look at the apt-get man page: -
"build-dep
build-dep causes apt-get to install/remove packages in an
attempt to satisfy the build dependencies for a source package."
Is this saying that if I ran "apt-get build-dep mythtv" it would install all
of the dependencies that mythtv has but not install mythtv itself. If so
this looks like it's exactly what I want.
I'm tempted to rebuild my system soon anyway, just to make sure that I
understand how it all fits together properly, so I'll probably try this out.
Cheers,
Jon.

I've been trying to add support for DVB, but w/o a DVB card it is
difficult. There are first signs of my blind efforts via some DVB
drivers I placed into the bleeding section. I'd be very glad, if you
could test them (what card are you using?).

Not really tested (by me), but "apt-get build-dep" should do what you
want. Check the man page to apt-get(8).
