[mythtv-users] Hauppauge IR receiver and URC8811

I read your post about irman and how you don't use it anymore. I still can't get lirc to irrecord. I've been told on the lirc list to use my SuSE package for lirc 0.6.6. I can't recall where, but I heard 0.7.0pre4 is better? I've also read that when lircd starts as "lircd 0.6.6: lircd(any) ready", the driver doesn't respond as well. I'm assuming compiling 0.7.0pre4 with just Hauppauge IR support is the way to go... Is this where I need to be? I'm using 0081 as my code for VCR. I've heard it's RC-5, but irrecord on an ActiSys IR-200L I've got says its RC-6...

I don't have an URC-8811 working, but I have a
URC-6131 working with the Hauppauge IR receiver via lirc. Should be roughly the same concept.

I made a post to the list a few weeks ago (I think) with detailed instructions on setting up the 6131.
Basically, start off with the lirc RC-5 config file, and work from there.
