Pundit? No, but I dim LEDs all the time. The best solution I've
found is to get colored plastic shipping tape and cut a small
rectangle to stick over the LED. Even though the tape doesn't
look opaque, it's surprising how clearly the light shows through.
In fact, I sometimes have to use two or three layers to get the
brightness down to what I want. If you get tape with a neutral
or matching color, cut neat edges and align with edges near the
LED, the tape can be nearly unnoticeable (or at least not nearly
as annoying as the raw light from the LED ;-).
