I deal with this with an "ssh mythbackend -X" from my laptop. My
frontend is an Xbox and works fantastically. I've got one of the
8-in-1 Kameleon remotes that mimics the MS Xbox remote that takes care
of day-to-day functions.

I _did_ make a USB->xbox dongle so I could plug a keyboard into the
xbox, but I haven't needed it since I correctly set up the MythXbox
software. I have the dongle handy just in case, but I've not had the
occasion to bother using it. "Bah!" to a keyboard on the frontend! =)
