Sure, I use my One-4-All remote that I've been using on my TV for years 
to controll my TV, VCR, DVD, Receiver, ReplayTV, and now MythTV.  Just 
programmed it to act like a Tivo remote and LIRC recognizes it just fine 
on my Streamzap IR USB receiver.
