(btw the problem with NEW messages getting snagged under the wrong thread is related to the "REFERENCES" line)
Having a problem getting a consistant "excellant" rip of any dvd in my
backend machine. I've tried probably 25 times on 5 different movies, and
succeeded on two of them.
I can play them all perfectly. I can do a "perfect" rip, and play that no
problem. However, when I try to do an excellant rip, it will get most of the
way through the rip, but when it comes to the actual compression /
transcode, it ends prematurely, thinking it completed ok.
Here's what I see in the mtd.log

the backend is running on a 160gig drive with lots of space, so it doesn't
seem to be running out.
When I try to run the command line listed there, it fails like so:

Running KnoppMyth R4V4.
(for what it's worth, I can handle the derip vob copy, if I could just
figure out the command line to turn the VOB's into something equal to the
"excellant" setting, which seems to be 95% XVID with AC3 intact. I'd be
happy to use either mencoder or transcode.
thanks in advance.
